Mr. Oizo drops maniacal new track
"Bear Biscuit," the latest track from Mr Oizo, should come with a whiplash warning. Opening with an ominous drone, the track explodes into head-banging stupidity, and I mean that in the very best way. For almost three minutes disconnected voices, abrasive fire-alarm squeals, and steroid-injected glitch mosh together in a beautiful demonstration of organized chaos. As the dust settles and a broken-record vocal loop closes out the track, one gets the feeling of being in a post-Godzilla Tokyo; equal parts confusion, terror, and amazement.

Why So Many of 2015’s Biggest Pop Stars Are Channeling the Sound of the 1980s
My favorite music meme of the summer was this mix boiling down the Human League’s 1981 hit “Don’t You Want Me?” to its opening phrase: “You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar,” repeated in endless, sublimely moronic variations. It condenses into less than three minutes all the smart dumbness and stylish awkwardness of ’80s music.

City of the Sun - "Time" (Official video)
John Pita, Avi Snow and Zach Para. Two guitars, a box, some bells, and a sound that is far greater than the sum of those parts. Their music has been called "tremendous," "powerful," "mesmerizing," and "a re-invention of acoustic music." It's acoustic, it's instrumental. It's worldly, running the gamut from wide-screen post-rock dynamics to gypsy jazz.
