    Her's: Liverpool's indie scene reels at death of 'the loveliest lads'

    There’s a sense of shock within the Liverpool music community today, as people come to terms with the tragic death of two of its rising stars. Audun Laading and Stephen Fitzpatrick, who made up the band Her’s, were travelling to a gig in California with their tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson on Wednesday night when all three were killed in a traffic accident. The news was confirmed by the band’s record label, Heist or Hit, on Thursday evening.

Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading were both killed in the crash along with their tour manager Trevor Englebrektson while on their way to a gig in Santa Ana, California on Wednesday (March 27).

    Murder arrest over hospital baby deaths

    A healthcare professional has been arrested on suspicion of murdering eight babies and attempting to kill six others at a hospital. Cheshire Police said the woman's arrest was a significant step forward in an investigation into deaths at the Countess of Chester Hospital. Officers have been investigating the deaths of 17 newborns at the neonatal unit between March 2015 and July 2016.

    Car park fire destroys 1,400 vehicles

    A huge fire has destroyed up to 1,400 vehicles in a multi-storey car park in Liverpool, forcing many people to spend New Year's Eve in a temporary shelter. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze at King's Dock - next to the Liverpool Echo Arena - was one of the worst it had ever dealt with.

    Mum aged 98 moves into care home to look after her 80-year-old son

    A devoted mum aged 98 has moved in to a Liverpool care home – to look after her 80-year-old son. Tom Keating became a resident at Moss View care home in Huyton in 2016 because he needed more care and support. And just over a year later his mum Ada decided to move into the same home to help look after her eldest child.
