Anyone here looking forward to the Internet of things?

I'm really not. I can just incision how this idea can go wrong. I'm curious what others think of the IOT and if you look forward to this or dread it.

Absolutely not. There is no reason other than marketing to connect an appliance to the internet. None. I do not want to get the trouble ticket that somebody hacked into your dryer and ordered 10,000 fabric softner sheets. I'm even opposed to the Nest and network connected environmental controls.

I can see the reason for this if I am a stockholder; add a 30 cent wifi chip and mark the product up $40. But for the end consumer? No way.
