But is that only in the US? Does it apply in other countries? Does it apply to companies from other countries? Does it apply to US companies broadcasting from space to other countries?
I agree with kxh that this important point was not covered in the article. I would assume it would only apply to US-based companies, regardless of where they're broadcasting to. For the simple reason that NOAA does not (as far as I'm aware) have any jurisdiction over any other countries or companies from other countries.
