In most places, you could be standing on your own property swilling a tasty hot toddy or sipping an ice-cold beer, but should you step out onto a public street, you’re breaking the law. That’s not the case, everywhere, however. I don't see what the big deal is with drinking in public. As long as it's done responsibly its fine in my books.
Problem is, alcohol has this unique attribute that makes responsible people not responsible. All it takes is one too many and bam, you're under that influence. Not saying everyone is like that of course, but those few ruin it for everyone else.
