I've been writing about how automation is doing the same thing but the basic message is that the machines which took manufacturing jobs away were just a precursor of things to come. In the next 20 years get ready to see a huge amount of jobs disappear forever

Which is not a bad thing, just look at life before the industrial revolution and then after. A lot of very positive changes happened, and mostly quality of life improvements.

I just know that plenty of people will probably get left behind. Companies should have programs to transition their employees if they're going to get rid of them or at least give them some notice. We all know that they don't always think of the people who do all of the actual work so I'm concerned for them most of all.
