John Keller: Defender of the American Can - Hurricane Katrina
John Keller, a recon Marine and lifetime resident of New Orleans, decided to ride out Hurricane Katrina in his apartment building--The American Can. John figured out a way to rescue the almost 300 residents of the building—his exploits included fighting off looters, swimming through floodwaters to find help and hot-wiring boats to aid in the rescue.
