Fukushima Railway Bridge, Japan

On an early summer morning, Teruo Araya captured this image of a train on Japan Rail's Tadami line as it passed through Fukushima Prefecture. "The haze generated by the river created a fantasy world," as the train crossed the railway bridge, Araya says. For the Your Shot contributor, the sight expressed the recovery of the people of Fukushima, defying the earthquake and nuclear accident of March 2011. "But it is like an endless journey."

    Wow. Just wow. What I would give to be there right now (or at least in the time of the picture).

      Indeed. I'd love to visit Fukushima and even Chernobyl and just explore around and look at the stuff left behind, it's like a living museum.

        An extremely radioactive living museum!

          That's what it's even better about it, the feeling that it is actually dangerous to be there, but possible. Many people, at the orders of the government, go to chernobyl from time to time to check the radioactive levels and make sure everything is kept contained so it doesn't spread.

    Thanks for including a nice introduction and source. I hope more and more people follow the trend. Let's not end up like reddit.

      No problem. I look at Snapzu as a platform of interesting content, like a blog, but where everyone is a writer. So I make my posts as good as possible, simple but with all the information that I would like to read in other snaps.

          My guess, probably about 90%..

            Really? That's interesting. Wonder how much more active this site would be if all 90% started to become active. Probably would be the boost we need to really start growing.....

              I think that 90% of the internet lurks. You can look at reddit for example, they don't have more content because the lurking percentage is smaller, they have more activity because the amount of users is bigger. Basically their 10% is bigger than ours. But I kinda like that there isn't too much traffic here, but I would definitely like to see more activity.

              It would be a hell of a lot more active if everyone took part... but not everyone has the balls to be... yeah, I'm talking about YOU, yes YOU :D

              @Slyken -

              That's true. I think there's as golden area of user membership. Enough people where there is constant content but not enough to feel overpopulated and still a community. I don't think we've reached the constant content line at all.

              Yep, this place would benefit from more members.. but like with everything it just takes time.

              yeah, snapzu has the potential to grow way more and still be an awesome platform we'll just have to wait and I'm sure people will start noticing the website.

            I really don't have a clue, you should ask Teruo Araya or someone who knows that bridge.
