The wine skin looks like a good idea if you carry wine around. Not only does it help it not break as easy, it also holds the wine in the bag in case it does, thus not ruining everything else in the luggage.

Yeah but how many people carry wine around? Why not just buy it when you get to your destination?

Some people are picky with their wine and don't want to risk it not being available. I personally don't care and enjoy trying new wines.

I have a soft spot for southern scuppernong and muscadine wines... yet sadly they are only readily available in the south. I tend to stock up when I travel there, but float between multiple reds for the most part. So I suppose, I both self ship and vitage shift depending on the moment.

Really depends on what type of a wine drinker you are. Some wines are only available in very limited areas, beyond shipping, which is very expensive and often unavailable, you have few options other than personally transporting it.
