How to Spend Weekend in Sydney If You're Single

When travelling in groups, every decision you make is up for a vote. If the person you’re taking isn’t into your idea, they might argue against it and you may be forced to give up. It’s even worse if you have to make a compromise. I do X and then you do Y is never a pleasant way to spend a vacation. The worst part is that they may agree to do what you want but then nag you the entire time or restrict you in terms of time available for the task in question. There are also some types of behaviour that you can’t actively indulge in if you’re travelling with a partner. So, here are some suggestions on how to spend the weekend in Sydney if you’re

  • Go bargain hunting

One of the worst things about bargain hunting and bartering in a company is that your companion may not be as much into it as you are. Some might lack patience, while others might be too shy. For you, however, this solo trip is a great opportunity to find something truly extraordinary. This way, you get to control your own budget and the time you want to spend on every single item. Visiting local markets, sales and similar venues/events. The key thing is that there’s no one to hold you back.

  • Visit a brothel

While not a lot of people are aware of this, Sydney is home to some of the best brothels across the globe. If, as a single visitor to Sydney, you ever get lonely, there’s nothing bad about looking for comfort in a high-end brothel in Sydney. The service is top-notch and the experience is something that you will cherish for the remainder of your life. If you’re visiting from abroad, chances are that these services are unavailable or illegal in your home country. This gives you a unique opportunity to try the taste of the forbidden fruit during this limited window of opportunity.

  • Visit the Art Gallery of NSW

Enjoying art is something that you should do alone and in complete silence. Sure, there are always other people (tourists most often) around. However, when they’re not in your company or when they’re not addressing you directly, you have the privilege of just being able to zone out. To help you out with this, you can even wear headphones or earplugs for the most part. The Gallery itself is quite monumental. The building has 5 floors, 3 of which are below ground. It is one of the most impressive collections of Australian, Aboriginal and even Victorian art that you will ever encounter. As such, it’s more than worth a visit.

  • Go to a Football game

While the situation is not that great due to the situation with the pandemic, football is still an essential part of life in Australia. In fact, the Sydney stadium rebuild is underway despite the pandemic. Once the situation is settled and the project is over, visiting this stadium should be high on your priority list. Keep in mind that this is one of the most significant milestones in recent Australian sports history. Therefore, visiting the place might feel like being a part of something greater. Not to mention the fact that all the games played here are of the highest calibre.

  • In conclusion

While neither of the above-listed is impossible for those who travel in company, on your own, they’re far more likely and less of a convenience. Travelling to a location on your own or travelling in a company are two completely different things. Even travelling in a different company has the potential to make a difference. Charting a course ahead of time can help you prepare for the journey at hand but there’s also nothing wrong with leaving some room for spontaneity. It’s much easier to change plans when you travel alone and you might want to use this opportunity.
