Yes,but if I remember correctly I cannot choose a different desktop than what Ubuntu offers and I don't care for their desktop,I prefer a more traditional desktop like MATE.

Yup,Ive done this for a very long time and a friend started doing it as well when we saw what happened to a very close friend who consumed massive quantities of high carb garbage.His high carb diet caught up with him in 2018 v when he developed dementia and he died this year.
