Are they really following Hugo Chavez’s script? Because this is exactly what he did.

We have no options, do we.

That sounds so grim! Six of scapegoating the one, or a half dozen of scapegoating the other. I'd rather have the delusion of choice than no delusion at all. On the upside, we have almost as many options as we had yesterday, and we may have nearly as many tomorrow. Wish I had encouraging words to offer. Some folks'd say the answer is to go get organized. Me, I'm pretty sure we're going to be busy making choices around surviving on an uninhabitable Earth one way or another anyway, so that saves a lot of worry and grief over how things are going with mob rule.

I don't see why this is a problem, my understanding of the Constitution is this is completely legal and a way that the country has built-in checks and balances, plus my understanding is if they open it it's open to everything not just their wants but others as well. Just because a function of the constitution hasn't been used in a long time doesn't mean it isn't still valid.

“Once you call a convention literally anybody can bring up anything,” said Jay Riestenberg, a spokesperson for the non-partisan watchdog group Common Cause. “We can bring up an amendment to overturn Roe v Wade or the Civil Rights Act,” Riestenberg added.

I understand that's a fear, but at the same time Democrats could bring up limiting the 2nd Amendment something that 2nd Amendment people fear.
