Why president Trump can’t squash the innovating, job creating, money saving clean energy industry
Like many others, proponents of clean energy were thrown into a state of shock after the US election results. During the campaign, now President-elect Trump dismissed climate change as a Chinese hoax and threatened an abrupt shift in US energy policy. Despite this shaken political climate, there are many reasons to remain optimistic about the prospects for clean energy in the United States. Specifically, renewable energy is broadly popular, makes sense financially, and is largely state-regulated.

He could certainly cause it major harm if not squash it, it would only require them to remove all government subsidies from it and end tax credits for solar and electric cars. Some big states like California could whether this but smaller states in the "wind belt" areas would be harmed. Now it's possible they no longer hand out those subsidies, but at one point all the big repub stuff was about new renewable industries getting them while "clean" coal was being destroyed.
