The power-up concept also opens up certain money making opportunities. To increase the incentive to grow Snapzu's communities (otherwise known as tribes), all “tribe chiefs” will be able to refer new members through a unique ID link generated for each tribe chief, per tribe. In this case, it will act similarly to an invite, except only available to tribe chiefs that want to grow their tribe from outside sources such as forums, social networks and other places. If a referred member then purchases credits, the incoming funds will be shared 50/50 between Snapzu and the tribe chief. Earned credits would then be able to be spent, given away to other members, or even cashed out into monetary earnings at 50% of their value.

This sounds horrible. I think it will just flood the place with spam and people posting low quality content to game referrals. It just reeks of a race to the bottom.

I think a better way to share revenue would be community choice charitable donations or even direct sponsorship schemes. That way people can feel invested but not having a personal stake in trying to capitalise on the system.

If there was money involved for content (think squidoo or hubpages), I can see it becoming a spam fest. This sounds like it's about trying to grow communities of people, not the actual content posted. Besides, the down vote has and will always kill any spam so as long as they don't remove that I'm OK.
