Do any of you have fun reading challenges?

For example, I recently started reading the James Bond books for the first time. Every time I finish a book in the series, I'm allowed to watch the corresponding movie. Thought it would be fun to see the direct contrast between the movies and the books. Plus, it's a good reason to read all the books and watch all the movies!

Last spring (2014) my reading incentive was to read from start (first book) to finish (last book) all the Tom Clancy "Jack Ryan" series, turned out awesome, made it through all of them. Currently working on all the Steven King novels, which some of them are killing me slowly as a few start out forever with nothing really happening or going on, but in the end they get to the point of "Can't stop now" mode!

How long did it take you to read all of the "Jack Ryan" series? Did you read anything else while doing it, or was it really only those?

I started at the very first book in the series and did them in order till the last book written in the series, mostly about Jack Jr. I'd want to say close to maybe 6 months??? I know I blew through a few of them at one point. I did the same with the Brad Thor series and am caught up with him so i have to wait it out till maybe next year for the next book. (I heard they were going to make a movie out of one of Brad's books!) Working on some Steven King novels right now, maybe not in order but dam he has a lot.
