That is exactly why autocrats lie continuously. While people argue about the lies, they do whatever they want. Chavez was a master of this (like most of them).
I don't see Trump getting much done though, at least not yet. He is still constrained by Congress, though who knows what lies ahead when he starts chewing the carpet in frustration.
