I'm no fan of Dana White, but the reporting on this is so ridiculously biased.

Helwani reported information while it was still embargoed, and it's really no more complicated than that. This wasn't a case of him working sources, chasing down leads, and finding things out on his own, he was given embargoed information by the UFC and he reported it before he was allowed to. Reporters routinely get blacklisted and fired for breaking an embargo, so he should be glad he still has his job.

That makes more sense. I read the article and wondered what I was missing. I don't follow the UFC but working for a media company I know that there are certain times when companies script out a large announcement. Some reporters and news agencies will get information prior to the announcement so they can prepare an article or question beforehand with a "gag" order to make sure the news does not leak out ahead of time.
