Crazy! Does anyone know why the Earth's core is supposed to have frozen at 2.3 b years when the sun is also expanding?

The earth's core cooling has nothing to do with the outside heat source that is coming from the sun. As you may noticed just by not melting, that the heat from the sun does almost nothing short of keeping plants alive. Having said that, even as the sun expands there is no way that the heat from the sun can sustain the molten iron environment that is the earth's core.
