Why would one voluntarily register ownership of anything to the state?
I agree, especially if it means someone might publish your home address (rob this place it has a registered gun to steal) or later make your firearm illegal.
Well of course, registration has always preceded confiscation in all other previously gun owning societies. I would say that registration makes confiscation inevitable.
