I can understand how the black looks kinda washed out and maybe reflects as gold, but in every version, including the gif /u/splitfish posted, the blue is always blue. It changes from a washed out light blue to a darker blue, but it's always blue and never silver.

I'm curious to how the people who see silver and gold are viewing the picture? Do you wear glasses? Are you looking at it on a phone screen? Maybe glass filters out the blue? I don't know. All I can see is black and blue.

Click on the images I posted, I did an experiment. The gold is gold, and the white is in fact light blue, but that's to be expected... Its definitely not black and blue.

imgur is blocked at my work, but in both versions of this gif, I see a picture that I would interpret as a black and blue dress. I see where the gold comes in, but my mind says that's just what a picture of black fabric with the flash on would look like. If I was looking at a silver and gold dress, with the same photo quality and flash, I would imagine it would look white and yellow.
