One great thing about Dark Souls is that it feels fair. It's brutal, but fair. When you die it's usually because you messed up.

It's frustrating when games don't play by their own rules, or they change the rules mid-game. Dark Souls is pretty consistent about what you can and can't do.

The way I look at it, yes free college will tend to saturate the market with graduates which will in turn lead to more competition and fewer job opportunities for any one individual. But I think that's better than a situation in which some people don't even have the opportunity to get a degree in the first place.

I thought it was strange that so many Redditors demanded that Reddit explain her firing. As much as I would like to know, that isn't the sort of thing companies typically share with the public.

so far, Reddit hasn't destroyed it

I'm really liking their invite system. It makes this place much less susceptible to suddenly being overwhelmed by another community.

This is almost exactly what I picture under the surface.

Same here. When I look down and see only dark water I assume the worst. I think our brains evolved to interpret "nothing" as "probably full of monsters". It makes sense as a survival strategy.

I think it's true for any network where a few nodes have a large number of connections. If those few nodes do something everyone else will suddenly think it's popular, and then it actually does become popular.

I like how all the nice people are coming here. I tried Voat a couple weeks ago, but it seemed like it was full the kinds of users who were already making me want to leave Reddit.

I've often wondered if some people experience time differently than others. It's a bit like the whole "is my red your red?" question. How do you compare experiences that are so subjective? Anyway this article was super interesting.

The only reason I still use Reddit is to visit a few smaller subs. The big ones got really toxic. I think I'll be sticking around Snapzu for a while.
