I find it hard to believe, as this article states, that none of his advisors, nor Obama for that matter, saw the danger from Iranian or Russian forces, that they overlooked their strategic interest in the Assad regime.

I think that's the polite way of saying that Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE and the rest simply didn't care.

Yep, which also kind of says neither did the people in the US who made these decisions. All on the same page. It is certainly an Arab/Isaraeli/US vs a Persian/Russian geoplolitical power play.

I've begun to see things as Saudia Arabia versus the world.

They only have oil, money and Mecca...they need weapons, and we all know where they get those.

The U.S. has become irrelevant in Mid-East Policy.

President Obama has allowed Russia to become "the player".

A month from now, you’ll swing back around to claiming Obama stood bestride the Middle East like a colossus, setting the conditions for every failure and foible of the coming Trump Administration. I’ve given up keeping track of the Republican derangement weathervane: which one moment blows that he’s the literal antichrist of biblical prophecy, born not of woman in Kenya before attending an Indonesian madrassa and eating a diet exclusively of the most adorable puppies; another moment that he’s an illegitimate druggie usurper from the South side of Chicago that somehow rallied the masses with promises of free government phones to steal the presidency and the fate of the world for his Muslim Brotherhood handlers; yet another moment that he’s more incompetent than Dubya, more mentally unsound than McCain, and more venal and aristocratic than Romney. For chrissakes, pick one story and make it work. I’m done learning new reasons why the White House isn’t white enough yet.
